Young Pavement Artist Competition 2005

Entry by Jodie Hamshaw

Rawmarsh Community School hosted this years Young Pavement Artist Competition which took place in Rosehill Park on Tuesday 31st May 2005. The chosen theme for this years competition was Parks and Gardens.

All schools within the Rawmarsh area were invited to participate in this annual event. Students were given the opportunity to enter their work in the national competition which is co-ordinated and assessed by Tate Britain and The Royal Academy of Arts.

Entry by Jody Cardwell

Everyone who entered their work paid a fee of £1 which was donated to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Charity. Students were encouraged to participate even if they didn't want to enter their work into the national competition. Parents, Carers and Grandparents were also encouraged to participate.

The weather was kind which enabled us to have a picnic lunch and we also ensured that various other activities were available through the 'Park Active' scheme. Please see Rosehill Victoria Park Article for further information.
